Physical Therapist Assistant Program

The Physical Therapist Assisting program at South University can be completed in as little as 2-years and is designed to prepare you for a career as a health care provider.


The South University Physical Therapist Assistant Associate of Science degree program can prepare you for entry-level work as a physical therapist assistant.

As a PTA, you’ll perform certain elements of physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the supervision of a physical therapist. You’ll be equipped to provide services helping patients suffering from injuries or diseases with issues such as:

  • improving mobility
  • relieving pain
  • preventing or limiting permanent physical disabilities
